Ubuntu Distort Screensaver Pictures Location Folder

I recently activated the “Distort” screensaver in Ubuntu but found out that I didn’t like a lot of the default images it used. At first I couldn’t figure out where it was pulling these images from – but after a bit of searching, it turns out the files are all located in:

/usr/share/backgrounds/

Simply place the pictures you would like to be used in here and remove the pictures you don’t want. You then need to delete the screensaver cache file located at ~/.xscreensaver-getimage.cache which stores a list of image files to be used. The next time the screensaver runs it should then read from the current files in the folder above.
